Mini-Masters at The Mart Fundraiser
This miniature golf tournament benefits the Illinois Interior Design Coalition (IIDC). Hosted on three floors of The Merchandise Mart, the night starts with teams of golf foursomes playing 18 holes of miniature golf designed by Chicago design firms and students. The Emergency Clothes Closet

FashioNext Design Competition
FashioNext is an ongoing fashion design competition featuring established Chicago designers asked to create a garment inspired by select pieces from the Costume Collection of the Chicago History Museum. In its second year, Chicago designers must create a wedding gown inspired by pieces from the Museum’s collection. This challenge is presented in conjunction with the upcoming exhibition I Do! SAIC Fashion 2010
Tickets go on sale March 1 for this May 7 event. For the first time in its 76-year history, SAIC’s annual fashion show takes place in the Griffin Court of the Art Institute’s Modern Wing. School of the Art Institute of Chicago alumna and one of the New York Times’ T magazine’s up-and-coming “household names” Emily Pilloton (MFA 2005) is touring the country to spread the word about design for the greater good. Traveling in an Airstream trailer that doubles as a mobile design gallery, her Design Revolution Road Show is exhibiting products that feature humanitarian design, connecting design to the people who need it most. 31st Annual Imagine Fashion Show
Hosted by NBC’s Ginger Zee, the International Academy of Design and Technology student-produced fashion exhibition will showcase design talent and production of IADT’s students. Featuring over 100 original student designs, Miss Illinois USA 2010 Ashley Bradarich will lend a hand on the runway, while designer Michelle Tan showcases 10 years of successful style.
